AlcoTrack vs Sunnyside

These are two different kinds of product that end up in the same search. Sunnyside is a program you join: a plan for the week, messages through the day, human coaches you can text, a community, and a subscription. AlcoTrack is a tool you keep: a diary that estimates your blood alcohol, counts your alcohol-free days, and lives on your phone without an account.

The short version

If what you need is somebody on the other end, Sunnyside has that and AlcoTrack does not: real coaches by text, a plan made for you, people in the same place. If what you need is the number, the diary and your own data, AlcoTrack has that and Sunnyside does not: it never shows a blood alcohol estimate, it needs an account and a phone number, and the log sits on its servers.

Where Sunnyside is better

  • Human coaches you can text, and daily messages that keep the plan in front of you.
  • A weekly drink plan built around your goal and adjusted as you go.
  • Tracking by text message, for the evenings you will not open an app.
  • A community, and live sessions on some plans.
  • iOS and the web, not only Android.
  • A medication route for people who want to stop, through Sunnyside Med.

Where AlcoTrack is better

  • A live blood alcohol estimate with the hour it reaches zero. Sunnyside has none.
  • Sleep, resting heart rate and HRV from your watch, drinking nights next to sober ones.
  • No account and no phone number; the log never leaves the phone.
  • Free, with ads, for the whole diary. Plus is optional and can be paid once.
  • A coach that has actually read your log, even if it is an AI in beta rather than a person.

Every Sunnyside cell comes from its Google Play listing, its App Store listing (prices and the privacy label) and its own website, as they read on 25 October 2026. "Not offered" means none of the three mentions it. German advertising law asks a comparison to be objective and checkable, which is also simply the honest way to do it. If a cell has gone stale, tell me.

Which one

If you want to be coached, Sunnyside, and the 15-day trial is the way to find out whether daily messages suit you before the $99.99 a year starts. If you want to see what you drink, what it does to your blood alcohol and to your sleep, and keep that to yourself, AlcoTrack, and the diary stays free. Some people run both: the program for the plan, the diary for the numbers.

Disclosure: the US version of AlcoTrack links to Sunnyside Med, Sunnyside's medication program, and I am paid a referral fee when somebody subscribes through that link. The cells above come from Sunnyside's own listings and would read the same without the deal.
